Daylesford & Hepburn Springs
Business & Tourism Association

The role of the Daylesford & Hepburn Springs Business & Tourism Association is to provide strong, reliable leadership and advocacy on all matters relevant to businesses in Daylesford and Hepburn Springs.

The Daylesford & Hepburn Springs Business & Tourism Association was formerly known as the Daylesford & District Business Group (“DDBG”). In August 2010, members voted to change the name to the Daylesford & Hepburn Springs Business & Tourism Association to represent the interests of business owners in Daylesford & Hepburn Springs, and to be consistent with its function as the Local Tourism Association (“LTA”) representing Daylesford & Hepburn Springs within Tourism Hepburn.

The vision of the Daylesford & Hepburn Springs Business & Tourism Association is to represent the local business community by providing:

> advocacy and support;
> networking opportunities;
> a platform for members to build partnerships that enable them to grow their business; and
> support to address local issues at a local level.

Next General Meeting

Daylesford Town Hall

(enter via lane on left & proceed towards rear)

The keynote speaker will be Robyn Smith, the new Chairperson of the Daylesford & Macedon Ranges Tourism Board, who will outline recent changes to the structure of the Board and discuss the focus of current work.

We have also invited Geoff Howard MP, Member for Ballarat East and Ben Taylor, Liberal candidate to speak for 5-10 minutes about issues concerning businesses in the region, and how business groups such as ours can work closer with all levels of Government. Both Geoff and Ben will contest the seat of Ballarat East in the State Election on 27 November.

An open microphone session will follow in which you are invited to indicate areas that you think our business group can "make a difference" for the business community in Daylesford & Hepburn Springs. You will also be able to submit ideas via a "suggestions" box.

Items of business will include:

> Special Resolution to increase the Committee from 10 to 14 members;
> Special Resolution to increase the number of office bearers from 3 to 4, and to create the new role of Deputy Chairperson; and
> Special Resolution to increase the quorum for Committee meetings from 4 to 6.

We are looking for additional committee members and participants in sub-committees. If you would like to contribute in any way, please let us know during the evening, or via the contacts listed below.

If you wish to attend, could you please RSVP to Connie Conlan at portal@bigpond.net.au by close of business Thursday 4 November, so we can determine catering requirements.
